Extracurricular activities in KWC
This might not come as a surprise to some of you, but KWC is all about the world’s best amateur singers. Be that as it may, one can do so much more in KWC besides listen to these talented singers perform. If you are participating, you must be in Lahti. We have covered Lahti here at KWC.FI, but just to give a few straight recommendations: walk Aleksanterinkatu up and down, go to see the sports center, check out the water organ & Sibeliustalo & the harbor and after KWC, hit the nightlife of Lahti. Creativity is strongly recommended.
When you are in KWC, you can start by singing karaoke untill your lungs give out. We have three karaoke bars equipt with HUGE sound systems, you won’t get a better karaoke experience anywhere else in Finland. So if you don’t want to sing, even listening to others will be a treat.
Our main international sponsor, Karaoke-Version will set up a stand (as mentioned earlier) to Lahti Hall for all karaoke lovers to visit. Spend a few minutes checking their service and try the complimentary free song at their stand. Also Karaoke Service Finland will set up a stand for their karaoke gear store. So if you are missing some hardware, a visit at the KSF stand is a must.

When you’ve sang at the Karaoke-Version stand and spent all your money at the KSF stand, maybe it would be a good time to sit down, grab a cold one and enjoy the bands and shows that KWC 2008 has. Tuesday starts of with Arja Koriseva Show, Tomi Markkola makes sure that people can keep on dancing until closing time.

On Friday things get even hotter as the competition starts, but around midnight the stage will be overflowing with testosterone, as Scandinavian Hunks and Frederik take the stage.

Things ain’t getting any easier in Saturday! Not only the best of the best will be giving the crowd amazing performances all night long, Saturday ends up with Finland’s first full scale indoor fireworks show. Whatever is left of Lahti Hall after that, Teräsbetoni blows up with their energetic performance.

We hope that these will keep everyone happy and entertained through this year’s three day KWC. If not, we have more; you can put all your detective skills into action and try to spot out Justin from the social singing network RedKaraoke.com for some stamps, badges and just for a great talk about karaoke.
ps. two days to go…
