What is KWC?
KWC stands for Karaoke World Championships. The sole meaning of the Karaoke World Championships is to provide the world's best karaoke entertainment with the World Champion title in a men's and women's series. KWC has been organized annually since 2003.
Where and when?
Karaoke World Championships 2013 will be held in Lappeenranta, Finland. From 21st to 24th of November the world's best amateur singers will perform in Holiday Club Saimaa, the Northern Europe's largest entertainment spa.
How to participate?
Entrants in the Karaoke World Championships are required to go through national trials within their own country. KWC Organization grants licenses to parties that meet the criteria as a KWC Country Host. Want to acquire a KWC Country license? Contact us..

What countries were involved?
Thanks
“Huge suprise”. Two worst singers( among top-5) were awarded first places. Needless to say that nearly all delegations expressed an amusement. Go, Finland! Apparently the country holding the KWC rights desperately needed their own champions. By doing so, Finnish organisers have completely discredited the whole event.
Anton Anton Anton! Is it really much surprise that you are from Russia……?
Fedor who came second was excellent…. WHEN he performed NEssun Dorma it was quite simply amazing. However it was one from 4 songs…. Maybe judges felt winner performed all his songs more consistent level and so then he score higher.. for me Fedor was not versatile he sound same every song, Sam and Georg were strongest men in overall picture
And the ladys, Ireland should be in top 5 there is no question, and Tami maybe 2nd! but Let us again realise the Winner Maria now has this title after trying few times – DONT GIVE UP….also….Russia were strong but absolutely did not deserve win, they liked to perform more than to sing…..let us remember what is needed Talent…. THEN after that some performance of course!
Im sure if you were to decide Anton Russia would have taken all medals everywhere ;o))
To Compete is to know that Win or Not – EVERYONE is winner.
Great show i was there on all nights and I was with a country who singer did not even make final 10 ! but we all had amazing time.
I have to object a little.
About versatility of Fedor: he performed “Bohemiam Rapsody” by Queen, “Jamaica” by Robertino Loretti, “Nessun Dorma” by Pavarotti and “Un amore cosi grande” by C.Villa. I think he was versatile enough: from classics to rock. You may suggest him perform 50Cent or MCHammer? I dont think that it’s the best choice for tenor.
For example, Georg from Austria has excellent voice in Guns’n Roses style- he made most of it and he did nit sing classic, for example. Similar idea is about Sam. You can never be versatile enough to be best in all styles.
I agree, that Sam, Georg an Fedor are top-3 of this championship. But my opinion is that Fedor was obviously strongest one. And there are lot of peple, not only Russian, that share my opinion.
Among ladies: we saw, that ladies from Russia and America were equal in performance. So, we hoped to be 1st, but accepted 2nd after America. Julia took 2nd, that is good and fair to her.
But be 2nd after Finland? That was surprise indeed, because American, Italian and at least one of Russian ladies were obvioully stronger, than Maria Saarimaa-Ylitalo.
About the your suggestion, that Russia liked more perform, than sing – it is absolutely untrue, let’s wait and see videos. On the contrary, we think, that excellent singing was major component of Russian team. Did you forget, for example, the “Great gig in the sky” in final by Julia?
Now I expresed not my opinion, but common opinion of the big russian
fun-team.
Again, I must say, that atmosphere was wery friendly and whole event was awesome!
All my critics is only to final verdict about 1st places.
To Anton, Russia:
As always for the past eight (8) years, the scores were a combination of points given out by five to six judges (depending on the day here in Moscow). Russia had always 2 or 3 members in the jury and points were counted under a Russian supervision with the approvement of the Russian organizers.
Since 2003, Finland has placed three times in the top 3: Ari Koivunen 3rd (2005), Jenni Roth 3rd (2009) and Sami Muhonen 2nd (2009). England won the both championship titles in their first year back in 2003.
I hope to see you in Ireland next year!
Best regards,
Atte Hujanen

Congratulations to the Finnish entrants, hope Anton likes ‘sour grapes’.
Congratulations to all who took part, once again a fantastic event. Here’s hoping we can copy your success next year in Killarney.
If possible Atte, I would like to make a suggestion for future competitions. As you have streamed it live could it not be posssible to leave the streams up in an archive as the KWCUSA stream was of very poor quality and proper identification of the singers was not possible. From what I saw of the official stream it was just like watching a dvd on your computer. Just a suggestion.
Looking forward to meeting you again next year in Killarney.
Thanks Kevyn & Susie(Funbtime Sounds Entertainment, KWC Ireland Official partner)
Congratulations to vinners! well done to All and looking forward to 2011 in Ireland
Congratulations to vinners! They did their best.
A was there and seen and heard everything.
Sam is a very positive and open guy and his singing in 2nd an 3rd round was really impressive.
Final song was not his best choice and Sam did not show his best voice and perfomance.
Imho, singer from Austria outperformed Sam in final.
But Fedor Ryticov from Russia this day was out of competition. His fantastic perfomance of “Nessun Dorma” and “Un amore cosi grande” did not leave any chance to competitors. So, I totally disagree with 2nd place, awarded to Fedor! Fedor is really the best one!
Well done Finland, Maria and Sam you were fantastic. Sam love the picture you look so emotional……. very beautiful xxx.
Roll on IRELAND 2011!!!!
I would also like to view performances of the various competitors, not just the winners. Is there somewhere I can go to view them?
My grandaughter, Kirsten Durand from Canada was one of the competitors and I was not able to catch each of her performances, and I would dearly love to see them.
I very much enjoyed watching what performances I was able to get.
Congratulation to all the competitors, you let the world see your talent and enjoy your performances, how amazing is that.
Hey Denise, I have tried to find out how Kirsten did. Only found 1 video of her but it was poor quality. Can you please send any links you have so I can update everyone in Greater Vancouver. All we know is that she made it into the top ten, and that she had a cold. Send her all of our love and we hope to see her at The Point or The Old Admiral soon. Best wishes, Bert

How can I find the full results?
Thanks.
hello to all ang congratulation no one is winner and no one is losser, all has a good pipe i would like to judgest, next time make sure that the contestant is a citezen of the country they refresenting for, because i notice the winner of this year is refresenting moroco and now refresenting in finland?, second, please dont use the same singer in every year i know there are many singers in somewhere out there so if they particapate this year they are not ok to particapated next year give change to other’s,
thanks for reading
The event was very good.
From positive point may I mark:
Very talanted participants.
Light & sound was fantastic.
Support team on very high level.
Improvement areas:
Following the shedule and empty pauses (the event didn’t start on time and needed long waiting before having the results, especially in final day! And nothing was happening on stage during this time!)
Transparency of voting and jury composition. To avoid for the future such comments like Anton from Russia did may I suggest to extend jury composition to one member from each participaiting country and each jury member to show his points to the oudience & press right after the each performence to calculate them together. Sure cannot vote for his home country!
Participant should be from country he represents, thats very easy to check- show ID, but this is something partners need to be responsibility to check.
Hope to see even better event next year in Ireland.
I do not think they were the best… They may have been pushed… Seems like the voice quality is not that really important…

I truly believe that Kirsten could have won this entire competition had she not been sick. She has stage presence like no other. I’m a big fan. Sam did well and so did Maria, but Canada is where it’s at! Did you also notice how every other country had a guy performing too! Wh was she the only one from Canada? That takes a lot of balls… I gotta give her props!
