Joint Statement from Singa, Karaoke World Championships, and KWC Canada.

KWC Toronto 2020 is rescheduled to 2022

It is with the health and safety of our singers, their friends and family, and our audience members in mind that we must announce that this year’s World Final, KWC Toronto 2020, scheduled to take place November 19-21st, has been cancelled.

We have rescheduled KWC Toronto. Due to the large capacity and magnitude of the event as it has been planned, it is essential that we ensure participant and audience attendance can be optimal.

At this stage, there are many unknowns with respect to the course and duration of the COVID-19 pandemic throughout 2020 and 2021. While we hope for the best, we do not know for example, whether there will be a second wave of cases this coming winter, as many have predicted.

As a result, KWC Canada has decided, with the support of Singa and the Karaoke World Championships, to reschedule KWC Toronto to November of 2022. KWC Canada looks forward to welcoming you all to this incredible event. Plans for KWC 2021 will be announced as quickly as possible.

Karaoke World Championships Online 2020

Singa and the Karaoke World Championships have arranged for an online World Final event to take place instead. The KWC Online 2020 Finals will be held November 2-7th and all the singers around the world have the possibility to participate!

This online competition is for solo singers only. There will be no duets category this year. There will be cash and sponsor prizes and the 2020 World champion will be invited to perform at the KWC 2021 finals.

Every KWC Partner country can send up to four contestants and singers from all other countries are free to join the open online qualifications starting on June 1st.

You will find all information and instructions at www.karaokeworldchampionships.com.

As always, we love and appreciate our KWC family, and thank you for your support as we make some difficult decisions. We are all in this together, and we look forward to being able to gather in person once again, at local, national and global events around the world. In the meantime, let’s all keep the spirit of KWC alive by connecting through music whenever and however we can. Keep in touch with your National Directorship for more information about the 2020 season.

Wishing you all good health and we will see you virtually very soon!

Michael, Luca & Sharon
