KWC 2020 final scores, jury panels and public voting

These are the total scores in the Karaoke World Championships finals. 18 countries had a Jury panel giving scores to singers according to the KWC scoring criteria. This year with all the national jury panels we adopted a scoring method from the Eurovision song contest: each country only gave points to their top-10 singers on each round. This means that every country gave 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 points to 10 singers and no points to everyone else on that round. Country panels were not allowed to give points to their won singers.

With this system a singer can only get points if they are in the top-10 of a jury panel. This of course leads into some singers not receiving any points at all. We want to remind everyone that this is not a number that would describe their performances, but it just tells us that the juries found 10 singers they liked more on that round. After Rounds 1+2 the 22 top singers advanced to Round 3. Another 4 singers were added from the Public vote results when Rounds 1+2 were combined.

In the public voting everyone was able to vote for 2 singers on Rounds 1+2 and for one singer on Round 3. A big thank you to all the judges in the national jury panels and to every voter! This was an exciting new way to judge the Karaoke World Championships competition.
