The Karaoke World Championships 2024 has officially come to a close after five days of show-stopping performances, unforgettable talent, and fierce competition. This year's event, held in Logomo, Turku, Finland brought together the best karaoke singers from over 30 countries, all vying for the coveted title of Karaoke World Champion.
Winners of KWC 2024 are:
Solos:
1st Elizabeth Moya, Chile
2nd Ian García, Spain
3rd Annabella Iriza, Panama
"I'm so excited", told the brand new solo series world champion Elizabeth Moya to the media after the broadcast. "I love the community here in KWC."
"Sometimes we don't believe in ourselves, but I encourage everyone to continue following their dreams", Moay said.
Duets:
1st Tanya Ilios & Polina Topalova, Ukraine
2nd Annabella Iriza & Angel Gabriel Credidio, Panama
3rd Rhamon & Yasmine Mahfuz, Brazil
"We have no words", said Polina Topalova and Tanya Ilios, the newly crowned duet world champions to the media. "We're very happy. It's such a big honor to bring this victory to our country today. It's actually the first time ever Ukraine winning the duet series. It is amazing and unbelievable!"
"It means a lot not only for us but the whole country. We feel like it's our huge mission to show that our country keeps on living and singing and making all the dreams come true. As everyone knows we're going through a very hard time that we don't want to talk about now, we just love to show that we are happy, no matter what. We dedicate this victory to all our citizens. It's the least we can do and we hope that they're proud of us", Topalova and Ilios concluded.
Angel Gabriel Credidio from Panama was awarded with Viewer's Choice award after receiving most votes in the public vote.
This year's edition of the KWC was particularly competitive, with finalists delivering performances that will be remembered for years to come. The panel of judges, comprised of music industry professionals, had the difficult task of selecting winners from the talented pool of contestants.
In addition to the honor of being crowned a world champion, the winners will receive other awards. Winner of the solo category is awarded 5000 €, second 3000 € and third 1000 €. Winner of the duet category is awarded 3000 €, second 1500 € and third 1000 €.
The solo winner also receives a paid trip to perform at World finals 2025 and the opportunity to record and release an original song with the international music production company Up!HitMusic.
With this year's edition now concluded, preparations for the Karaoke World Championships 2025 are already underway, with promises of even more exciting competition and global talent.
